There is a quiet pressure many dads carry. Provide. Protect. Hold steady. Don’t flinch. It builds gradually and is rarely acknowledged.
Last week, I felt the pressure building. Nothing too big happened, just deadlines, little sleep, but 2 sick days from school, and a moment when my tone was sharper than I meant. I realized right away it wasn’t about that moment but everything I hadn’t said.
Spring invites clarity. Not reinvention. Clearing.
Being strong doesn’t mean staying silent. When pressure stays inside, it often shows up as impatience or tension. True strength is noticing it before it spills over.
Saying, “This week feels heavy,” doesn’t make you less strong. It actually helps you stay steady.
Your kids are not studying how much you carry. They are learning how you carry it.
If strength means shutting down emotions, kids learn to do the same. But if it means staying aware and steady, they learn to be resilient. This difference grows over generations.
THE TAKEAWAY
